Drug Testing Disclaimer
As part of our commitment to a safe and productive workplace, candidates selected for employment may be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening. This screening may include testing for controlled substances in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Please note:
• Under Washington State law, the use of marijuana (cannabis) is legal for adults age 21 and over. However, because federal law still classifies marijuana as a controlled substance, certain positions—particularly those involving safety-sensitive duties, driving, operation of heavy equipment, or federal contracts or funding—may require testing for marijuana.
• A positive result for marijuana or any other controlled substance may affect eligibility for employment only where testing is permitted and relevant to the job’s safety or legal requirements.
• We comply with all applicable provisions of Seattle’s ordinances and Washington State laws regarding pre-employment drug testing and do not discriminate against candidates based solely on lawful off-duty cannabis use, except as otherwise required by law.
